We all are very familiar with the word ‘TULSI’.
We all know it is a reservoir plant for the therapeutic application. Here is an overview and a guide for all of us to meet the doctor of our home – the ‘Plant of Tulsi’ being scientifically named as Ocimum Sanctum.

In Ayurveda, Tulsi is known as ‘The Incomparable One’, ‘Mother Medicine of Nature’ & ‘The Queen of Herbs’.
As per our Ayurveda, It is the tonic for the body, mind and spirit that offers solutions to many modern day to day health problems.

One cannot make an exhaustive list of Benefits of Tulsi as its benefits are very wide but for a quick overlook tried to enumerate some of them below:

  • Promotes immunity
  • Promotes wellbeing of life
  • Deals with the daily stress of lifeHas antipyretic property
  • Has antitussive property
  • Works as an expectorant
  • Has antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties
  • Has antiallergic property
  • Also has much more potential for a wide range of other ailments like Arthritis, Thyroid problems, helps fighting with the Cancer, Eye disorders, Acne and other skin disorders etc. .

How to use Tulsi in different forms?

  1. Boil to reduce half of the quantity. Drink this ‘warm Ukalo’ daily morning for cough expectoration and also for the fever cases.
  2. Tulsi patta + Ginger + Honey for common cold and sore throat.
  3. Take few leaves of Tulsi + add some Black pepper + 1 piece of Ginger. Add into 1 cup of water after crushing them.
  4. For children, fresh Tulsi patta juice with Honey only is also very helpful.
  5. Chew 15-20 Tulsi patta daily morning for enhancement of immunity and for wellbeing of daily stressed life
  6. Crush some Tulsi leaves, Pudina leaves and Ginger. Add water & boil the mixture for 5 minutes. Then add
  7. Honey after straining the mixture and drink daily in cold. A long term use of this mixture can cure chronic and recurrent common colds and sinusitis too. .
  8. Tulsi Tea is helpful in weight loss. Make it like this: Boil Tulsi leaves with water for 10 minutes, strain this mixture, add some Lemon juice in it and drink it warm daily morning with empty stomach.
